Choose quality, dimensions or a batch workflow
Compress Image adjusts encoding for one image. Batch Image Compressor applies a consistent starting treatment to several files. Reduce Image Size combines dimension and quality choices, while Optimize Image provides a web-oriented preset workflow.
A pixel requirement and a file-size limit are separate. If a form requires both 1200 × 800 pixels and a smaller file, set the required dimensions first, then check whether compression is still needed. The current tools do not promise an exact KB target.
Protect detail while making a smaller copy
For opaque photographs, compare JPG or WebP at a moderate quality setting. Text, logos and transparent graphics need a different trade-off; PNG can stay large even when a JPG-style quality control is reduced.
Check the saved image at the intended viewing size. Keep the original, and compare outputs from the same input rather than repeatedly recompressing the previous result.
