TOOL-SPECIFIC GUIDE

How to use Optimize Image

1. Select your input

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device using the file button or supported drop area. The standard file picker accepts browser-readable images up to 25 MB; decoding support depends on the file and browser.

2. Understand the settings

Web optimization presets choose a starting quality; WebP is recommended by the interface, with JPG or PNG alternatives.

3. Process and review

Select a preset, choose an output your site accepts, process, and compare sharp edges and colour gradients at the intended display size.

4. Save your result

Use the result’s Download control after processing. Keep your original separately and inspect the exported copy at its intended display size; the preview alone is not the file you will share.

Supported formats

Input: browser-readable images, normally JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 25 MB. Output controls include the shown Keep, JPG, PNG or WebP choices. Keep preserves a supported source encoding choice, not byte-for-byte original data; animation is not preserved.

When to use this tool

Prepare a web image using the available optimization presets. Choose dimensions appropriate for the displayed area before pushing compression harder.

What to check in the result

Review sharp text, transparency and the intended display size. Measure the saved output in your page workflow; a preset alone does not establish a faster website.

Continue with Image Converter when that step fits your workflow.

A practical example

Prepare a banner as WebP and retain a JPG copy only if your publishing workflow needs it.

Capabilities and limitations

The best format depends on the content and receiving application. A preset cannot prove that an image is optimal for every website.

Troubleshooting

If a web preset blurs fine text, use a larger target width or a less aggressive quality choice. Test the exported format in the destination website.

Processing and privacy

Image pixels are processed on your device. Loading the website and processing assets still uses a network connection, and hosting may receive normal request information. Keep original files backed up.

Questions about Optimize Image

What does a web preset change?

It applies practical output-size and encoding choices; review the resulting dimensions and format before publishing.

Does this optimize my whole website?

No. It exports an image copy; website caching, responsive markup and overall page performance still need separate work.
