Purpose of the service
ImgProcess provides practical image operations, supporting information and automated image assessment aids. A tool output, report, blog article or guide is not a professional certification, legal opinion or guaranteed determination of fact. This disclaimer supplements the Terms and Conditions and tool-specific limitations; it does not remove rights or obligations that applicable law makes mandatory.
Pixel changes and file compatibility
Compression, resizing, format conversion, sharpening, denoising and colour adjustments may change visible detail and file properties. Exports can flatten animation, change transparency, omit metadata or appear differently in other applications. A preview is not a guarantee that every recipient will display the downloaded file identically.
Keep an original copy outside the workflow. Compare downloaded output rather than relying only on the preview. Do not edit the only copy of material needed for evidentiary, archival, medical, regulatory or other important purposes.
Colour prediction, restoration and reconstruction
Automatic colourization predicts plausible colours and can be wrong about clothing, skin, objects and scenery. User corrections adjust a draft; they do not prove the historical colour of the original scene.
Scratch repair, watermark removal and missing-region reconstruction estimate replacement pixels. Enhancement and upscaling do not reliably restore detail that was never present or was destroyed. Reconstructed faces, writing and patterns can look convincing while being inaccurate. Clearly label such edits when accuracy or provenance matters.
Background editing and redaction
The background editor remains under development and testing and may not produce the desired result. Fine hair, transparent objects, shadows, similar foreground/background colours and busy scenes can require correction. Review edges before export and use the available undo controls.
Blur, pixelation, cropping and metadata removal are not guaranteed anonymization. Visible content, reflections, filenames, context and residual information can reveal identity or location. Review the exported file and consider the risk before sharing.
Forensic interpretation
Image Investigation combines the checks actually available to the deployment. A detector may flag a camera photo or miss generated or edited content. A visual-review model can mistake ordinary scene features for inconsistencies. Metadata, ELA, residual maps, frequency views and experimental copy-move signals can have innocent alternative explanations.
Analytical Confidence is not the percentage of altered pixels and is not automatically a calibrated probability of authenticity. Assessment and Evidence Strength are labels within the implemented methodology, not a legal verdict. A NOT AVAILABLE check has not run and provides no passing or failing evidence.
Hashes help identify a particular file’s bytes. They do not authenticate the scene or establish an independent chain of custody. The current locally generated audit trail and acknowledgments are not a verified identity registry or a central tamper-proof evidence system. Preserve source provenance and obtain qualified independent review for consequential use.
Mandatory forensic acknowledgment
The complete existing forensic acknowledgment is reproduced below. Its analysis and report-download controls remain in the tool. Acceptance acknowledges the stated limitations; it does not prove that a result is correct or that you have rights to another person’s data.
IMGPROCESS-FORENSIC-DISCLAIMER-1.0
This service provides an automated digital image analysis based on computational, technical, and scientific image-forensic testing methods.
The results generated by this service represent the findings of the digital tests performed on the submitted file and do not, by themselves, establish the absolute truth, authenticity, origin, authorship, intent, or circumstances surrounding an image.
No automated analysis can guarantee that an image is genuine, manipulated, AI-generated, AI-assisted, or unedited in every circumstance.
The results should be interpreted in their technical context and, where the matter is material, sensitive, disputed, legal, regulatory, investigative, or otherwise consequential, should be reviewed by a suitably qualified and independent digital-forensics examiner.
By continuing, you acknowledge that the analysis is based solely on the digital evidence available to the system; missing, altered, compressed, resized, re-encoded or stripped files may affect the tests; individual indicators may have legitimate alternative explanations; absence of an anomaly does not establish authenticity; presence of an anomaly does not independently establish fraud or malicious intent; this report is an analytical aid and not a determination of truth or legal liability; and you are responsible for how you interpret, communicate or use the results.
Connected services and status
Connected image checks may send selected content to external providers. Availability depends on actual credentials, models, quotas and service conditions. A configured connection can still fail or return a limited result. The findings must distinguish completed, limited and unavailable checks. Review the Privacy Policy before submitting sensitive information.
Guides, platform presets and external material
Guides and presets are practical starting points. Social platforms, file requirements, supported browsers and external services can change. Check the destination’s current requirements before relying on a preset or publishing. Links and any future ads do not certify an external provider or its claims.
Consequential decisions and responsibility
Do not use an automated assessment as the sole basis for an accusation, employment action, legal or regulatory conclusion, financial decision or other significant action. Describe uncertainty and seek a suitably qualified independent examiner when the issue is sensitive or disputed.
Use only images you own or are authorized to process. You are responsible for the lawful interpretation, communication and use of an output. These statements do not exclude liability or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. Report suspected errors with the tool name, circumstances and a nonsensitive example through the Contact page.
