TOOL-SPECIFIC GUIDE

How to use Remove Background

1. Select your input

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device using the file button or supported drop area. Follow the displayed 20 MB/12 MP limit; smaller images reduce processing memory.

2. Understand the settings

Choose JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB/12 MP. Erase/Restore, brush size, soft edges, trim, feather and step-by-step Undo refine the mask.

3. Process and review

Choose a photo, wait for the automatic draft, zoom into hair and edges, erase stray background or restore missing subject, then download transparent PNG.

4. Save your result

Use the result’s Download control after processing. Keep your original separately and inspect the exported copy at its intended display size; the preview alone is not the file you will share.

Supported formats

Input: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB and 12 megapixels. Transparent cutouts use PNG.

When to use this tool

Create a local cutout, inspect the transparent preview and refine missed areas with erase, restore and stepwise Undo. The development/testing notice remains applicable.

What to check in the result

Check hair, transparent objects, fine outlines and shadows at close view. Save PNG or WebP for transparency; JPG cannot retain the transparent cutout.

Continue with Background Changer when that step fits your workflow.

A practical example

Create a product cutout, checking holes and reflections before using it on a white page.

Capabilities and limitations

Under development and testing: hair, glass, shadows and busy scenes may require correction. The local model must finish loading; no account is required.

Troubleshooting

If hair or a thin edge is missing, use Restore with a smaller brush. If unwanted background remains, use Erase; undo an accidental stroke before continuing.

Processing and privacy

Image pixels are processed on your device. Loading the website and processing assets still uses a network connection, and hosting may receive normal request information. Keep original files backed up.

Questions about Remove Background

Can I undo several brush strokes?

Yes. Undo steps back through recorded edits; use Reset cutout when you want to return to the generated mask.

Does the cutout preserve transparency?

The transparent cutout download is PNG. Check edges over both a light and dark background.
