How to use Image Converter
1. Select your input
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device using the file button or supported drop area. The standard file picker accepts browser-readable images up to 25 MB; decoding support depends on the file and browser.
2. Understand the settings
Format cards select the output. JPG/WebP quality trades file size against detail. The background colour is used when transparent pixels become JPG.
3. Process and review
Choose the target format, set a JPG background if needed, process and download with the new extension.
4. Save your result
Use the result’s Download control after processing. Keep your original separately and inspect the exported copy at its intended display size; the preview alone is not the file you will share.
Supported formats
Input: browser-readable images, normally JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 25 MB. Output controls include the shown Keep, JPG, PNG or WebP choices. Keep preserves a supported source encoding choice, not byte-for-byte original data; animation is not preserved.
When to use this tool
Convert a browser-readable image to JPG, PNG or WebP. Use the format choices for compatibility, transparency or a different encoding trade-off.
What to check in the result
JPG cannot retain transparency. Keep PNG or WebP for a cutout, or review the selected background when creating JPG. PDF, PSD and HEIC conversion is not included in this general workflow.
Continue with Compress Image when that step fits your workflow.
A practical example
Convert a transparent PNG logo to JPG with a white background for a system that accepts only JPG.
Capabilities and limitations
JPG cannot preserve transparency. This converter does not claim HEIC, RAW or every specialist format.
Troubleshooting
If transparency disappears, choose PNG or WebP rather than JPG. If the browser cannot decode the source, convert it using an application that supports that format.
Processing and privacy
Image pixels are processed on your device. Loading the website and processing assets still uses a network connection, and hosting may receive normal request information. Keep original files backed up.
Questions about Image Converter
Which output preserves transparency?
PNG and WebP can preserve alpha transparency. JPG does not support it.
Does conversion improve source detail?
No. Re-encoding cannot recover detail absent from the original, and lossy output may discard some information.
How do I convert PNG to JPG without a black background?
Select JPG and choose the available background colour for transparent areas. Review the preview and downloaded copy; JPG cannot store transparency.
Can I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?
Yes, when your browser can decode the source image. Choose JPG for an opaque copy or PNG for an image that needs transparency. Animation is not preserved.
Does JPG to PNG recover detail lost to compression?
No. PNG changes the encoding of the decoded image; it cannot restore information that an earlier lossy JPG discarded.
