TOOL-SPECIFIC GUIDE

How to use Image Dimensions

1. Select your input

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device using the file button or supported drop area. The standard file picker accepts browser-readable images up to 25 MB; decoding support depends on the file and browser.

2. Understand the settings

The Precise Dimensions section displays pixels, simplified ratio, total pixel count and orientation.

3. Process and review

Choose a file and read the dimensions once it decodes. Use Resize Image only when a change is required.

4. Save your result

The inspection itself does not need a new image download. Read the displayed values; open a linked editing tool when you actually need to change the image.

Supported formats

Input: a browser-readable image, normally JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB. The result is displayed file and decoded-image information rather than a converted image.

When to use this tool

Inspect existing pixel dimensions, megapixels and aspect ratio before choosing a resizing workflow. This page measures the selected file rather than changing it.

What to check in the result

A large pixel count does not establish sharpness or print quality. Check the actual detail and any destination requirements separately.

Continue with Change Image Dimensions when that step fits your workflow.

A practical example

Check whether a photograph is actually 1080 pixels wide rather than relying on its filename.

Capabilities and limitations

These are decoded pixel dimensions, not guaranteed print size or a verification of original camera resolution.

Troubleshooting

If the displayed size differs from a website preview, remember the preview may be scaled by CSS. Pixel dimensions refer to the decoded file, not its screen display.

Processing and privacy

Image pixels are processed on your device. Loading the website and processing assets still uses a network connection, and hosting may receive normal request information. Keep original files backed up.

Questions about Image Dimensions

Are screen size and image dimensions the same?

No. A browser can display a large file in a small area; the tool reports the decoded image’s pixel dimensions.

Does this resize the image?

This page is for inspection. Use Resize Image to create a copy with new dimensions.
