Remove or Change an Image Background

Make a local cutout, refine its mask and keep transparency or add a colour or replacement image. Use correction and stepwise undo before saving.

Choose a transparent cutout or a replacement scene

Background Remover isolates a subject for a transparency-capable output. Background Changer uses the cutout with a solid colour, bundled backdrop or your own image. A white background and a transparent background are different exports.

Both workflows keep their development/testing notice. Automatic edges can require correction around hair, glasses, fur, transparent objects and similarly coloured surroundings.

Review mask edges and output format

Use erase and restore brushes conservatively, and undo a mistaken correction. Inspect the subject against a contrasting background to spot halos or missing edges before export.

PNG and WebP can retain transparency. JPG adds an opaque background. A white-backed product image is not automatically compliant with a marketplace or identity-photo rule; check the destination requirements separately.
