Metadata, Privacy and Image Investigation

Inspect readable EXIF and file information, prepare a metadata-reduced sharing copy, or review available AI detection and forensic evidence with explicit limitations.

Inspect, reduce metadata or investigate

Image Information reads basic file properties. Image Metadata Viewer examines available metadata and can prepare a report. Remove Image Metadata re-encodes a sharing copy, which should be checked again after download.

Image Investigation adds available hashes, evidence maps and connected assessments when configured. It addresses a different question from whether a GPS tag is present. Missing metadata does not establish that an image is AI-generated.

Keep privacy and authenticity questions separate

Removing EXIF does not remove visible personal information or filenames. A metadata field can be missing or changed, and a file hash identifies bytes rather than proving the scene is authentic.

Core metadata operations are local. Connected forensic checks can transmit selected images to external services after acknowledgment. Read the tool’s processing notice and preserve the original for any consequential assessment.
